Bangers and Mash Lasagna Recipe.

Ingredients:

6 British pork sausages (bangers)
6 lasagna sheets
4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups whole milk
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil for frying
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Recipe Instructions:

Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:

Boil the cubed potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
Drain the potatoes and mash them with a potato masher or fork until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

Cook the Sausages:

Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Add the sausages and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.
Remove the sausages from the skillet and slice them into bite-sized pieces. Set aside.

Prepare the Onion Gravy:

In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if needed.
Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened and translucent, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the butter until melted, then sprinkle the flour over the onion mixture. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
Gradually pour in the milk while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
Season the gravy with salt and pepper to taste.

Assemble the Lasagna:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a greased baking dish, spread a thin layer of the onion gravy on the bottom.
Place a layer of lasagna sheets over the gravy.
Spread a layer of mashed potatoes over the lasagna sheets, followed by a layer of sliced sausages.
Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of mashed potatoes on top.
Pour the remaining onion gravy over the top layer of mashed potatoes, spreading it evenly.
Sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese over the top.

Bake the Lasagna:

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
